Jacob Hoffman, attorney, grew up in Farmington Minnesota. Jake spent most of his childhood exploring the outdoors with his Boy Scout troop where he attained the rank of Eagle Scout. Before attending law school, Jake enlist in the Marine Corps Reserve, where he is still serving as a Marine For Life Representative for the mid-west district.  During his time at the University of St. Thomas Law School, Jake was a board member of the Journal of Law and Public Policy, earned a Dean’s Award, and held an externship in the Hennepin County Probate Court. After law school, Jake subsequently completed a 3-Year Masters of Taxation Degree (LL.M.) from Boston University, with a Graduate Certificate in Estate Planning. Outside of his practice, Jake enjoys camping, ATV riding, clay pigeon shooting, and duck and pheasant hunting.

Wills & Trusts
  • Comprehensive and specialized estate plans, including wills, revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives and more.
  • Prepare estate plans, evaluate current plans and recommend updates.
  • Assist clients with re-titling of assets to align with their estate plan.
Probate & Trust Administration
  • Prepare annual trust accountings on behalf of trustees.
  • Assist Trust Protector to amend a trust agreement to better align with grantor’s intent.
  • Represent clients in the administration of their loved one’s estate.

  • Prepare organizational documents for Limited Liability Companies and Corporations.
  • Assist business owners with amending filings with the Secretary of State.
  • Help business owners maintain proper business formalities in order to preserve the owner’s liability protection of the business structure.

  • Represent Homeowners Association with collecting dues and transitioning leadership from developer to lot owners.
  • Guide lot owners in adjusting lot lines with neighboring parcels.
  • Assist landowners with appeals of County Tax Assessor’s valuation of properties.
  • Prepare deeds, easements, CC&Rs, and other real estate documents.

  • Evaluate current tax planning strategies.
  • Assist in determining new strategies.
  • Prepare and file federal and state income tax returns for trusts.
  • Prepare and file gift tax returns.

  • Achieve charitable goals through gifting strategies.
  • Create charitable organizations, such as private foundations and charitable trusts.
  • Coordinating clients’ estate plans with charitable organizations.
